Frequently Asked Questions

  • A professional counselor associate is a provisionally licensed professional counselor who has completed a master’s level counseling program, passed necessary national examinations, and is currently working towards full licensure by completing a designated amount of supervised clinical counseling hours.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes. While the frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals, I strongly recommend beginning with weekly sessions to start and then moving to biweekly sessions as time goes on. I’m always happy to discuss a schedule that best fits your needs and circumstances.

  • Sex Therapy Is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on addressing various sexual concerns and challenges individuals and or couples may be experiencing. Sex therapy aims to improve sexual health, communication, and intimacy through a combination of counseling, psychoeducation, and behavioral interventions I provide for you to try as homework outside of session. Sex therapy often includes discussing emotional, relational, psychological and biological components of your life. Often times someone seeking sex therapy has another individual therapist. I like to be clear that there always may be some overlap in terms of our exploration in sex therapy. Sex therapy can address a wide range of concerns including mismatch in desire, erectile dysfunction, low libido, sexual pain, intimacy issues, challenges related to kink or fetishes, etc. Sex therapy typically begins with an assessment to help me understand specific concerns and goals. Sex therapy can be for couples and or individuals. If you’re wanting to build a more fulfilling sexual life with increased pleasure, sex therapy might benefit you!

  • I do offer a limited number of sliding scale spots. Please reach out to me directly to discuss financial barriers and needs around therapy.

  • My cancellation policy is as follows: I require 48 hours notice of cancellation. If you do not cancel 48 hours prior to session you will get charged the full session fee to the card on file. If you reach out 24 hours prior to session and want to reschedule within the same week, I will not charge you a late cancellation fee. I offer 1 time late cancellation freebie. Following your freebie I will charge for late cancellations and no shows- no exceptions. The reason for my policy being as rigid as it is is because for me to be an equitable clinician, I cannot discern which reasons are more valid for each client, that would lead to unfair bias. If you have any questions about my cancellation policy, please do not hesitate to reach out.

  • I actually love when clients bring this to my attention because it means that you feel confident enough to name that your needs aren’t being met, and that’s amazing! My style and flavor of therapy will not jive with everyone and that is okay. In fact, I encourage you to let me know when things aren’t working or you may need a different therapist. I will always support you in finding the best fit therapist. The most important part of therapy is the relationship that you have with them and if we aren’t a good fit for each other, there is someone out there who is!
